On behalf of our client located in Toronto, Ontario, Millennium is looking for a Business Objects Developer. You will be a key member of the development team that supports a variety of reporting systems, initiatives and projects.

Scope

  • Develop, test, support and maintain Business Object (BO) reports. This includes modifying the underlying components to conform to vendor upgrade releases of the software product, business requirement changes, as well as support for reports
  • Supporting large number of critical reports for immunization and for inventory using Business Objects tools
  • Provide subject matter expertise to develop and maintain BO tools for development and unit testing
  • Provide Business Objects and Crystal Reports
  • SQL query creation and tuning
  • Provide Business intelligence and data analytics, data warehouse design, development and support
  • Conducting technical analysis, trouble-shooting, and issuing resolutions for production operational support of reports and other components and utilities
  • Develop reports using relational and hierarchical database technologies
  • Provide information retrieval packages using query languages
  • Support BO administration and package creation
  • Provide and support BO upgrades
  • Conduct research and assessment of options for technical design issues
  • Provide impact analysis, effort estimate and solution design/development for supported solutions due to solution upgrades, software upgrades or any new requirements
  • Assess and analyze impact of upgrades to BO reports for updates, as well as developing the changes/improvements needed as per change requests already approved
  • Resolving and implementing critical fixes and changes as per defects found by business and as per critical changes
  • Conduct routine and incident management
  • Perform performance tuning as well as audit and ad hoc reporting per business requests
  • Meeting the service level agreements by troubleshooting and solving incidents opened for business objects reports via service desk
  • Maintain Development environments and continue continuous Integration (CI) practice
  • Translate technical systems specifications into working, tested applications
  • Conduct technical analysis, preparation of detailed programming specifications, program design, writing and/or generating code, and conduct unit tests
  • Provide software expertise in various computing platforms, operating systems, database technology, communication protocols, middleware and gateways

Technical Skills

  • SAP BusinessObject (BOBJ) and Crystal Report
  • Other Reporting tools, particularly Cognos and PowerBI would be an asset
  • BO scripting, Unix/Linux shell scripting and tuning
  • BO administration and package creation
  • Informatica or other ETL experience
  • Oracle (19c), SQL, PL/SQL, JSON, XML, optimized database queries, data architecture, data design, modeling and mapping Business intelligence and data analytics, data warehouse design, development and support.
  • Database and BO Performance tuning, automation
  • Enhanced CI/CD experience and DevOps methodologies and technologies an asset
  • BO/Crystal report AODA
  • Develop and support application monitoring using Elastic/Logstash/Kibana or Sematext
  • Knowledge of Java, JSON, XML, API calls, HL7/FHIR, Restful web services

Core Skills and Experience

  • Creating new database objects, develop indexes, trigger procedures or manipulating the tables to create materialized views
  • Working with business analysts to translate the business requirements and functional specifications into an application design appropriate to meet the business and operational/IT needs
  • Working with technical systems specifications and translating them into working, tested applications for large, complex, mission critical applications sustainment and upgrades
  • Work with Quality Assurance (QA) to code, test, and debug extensions/tools integration services
  • Analysis, design and development work on complex, multi-tier web-based applications, micro-services architecture, mobile, and off-the-shelf solutions
  • Proven technical leadership skills with ability to identify areas for improvement, and recommend solutions
  • Designing, developing and implementing applications that work across modern browsers and various platforms, and mobile devices
  • Using and applying extensive knowledge of User Interface (UI) design principles across a variety of applications, platforms and devices
  • Conducting technical analysis, program code, detailed programming reports and specifications, program design, writing and/or generating code, and conducting tests

  • Providing application programming support for incident management, application functionality sustainment, performance tuning and technical documentation
  • Developing and maintaining system design models, technical documentation and specifications
  • Developing medical and clinical based systems

  • Ensuring compliance with architecture framework and system standards, and Agile Development Methodology
  • Project management practices, and ability to contribute to design/development project plans, including work breakdown, resource estimates, and status reports
  • Experience with Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC)
  • Continuous Integration (CI) practice and enhanced Ci/CD experience and DevOps methodologies and technologies an asset
  • Knowledge and experience with leading-edge technologies, design criteria including usability, security, and privacy for web and mobile applications documentation

Healthcare Experience

  • Experience working with federal/provincial/broader public-sector healthcare providers
  • Knowledge of the provincial immunization systems and IT Health related projects or equivalent
  • Experience with integration of Clinical IT Systems such as Client and Provider Registries
  • Knowledge of public sector Enterprise Architecture artifacts (or similar), processes and practices, and ability to produce technical documentation that comply with industry standard practices
  • Knowledge of industry standard such as Project Management Institute (PMI)
  • Experience adopting and adhering to OPS Unified I&IT Project Methodology, OPS Enterprise Architecture and OPS Gating process, and OPS Standard Systems Development Methodologies.
